About the Journal “Mining and Oil & Gas Engineering”

The journal “Mining and Oil & Gas Engineering” is the legal successor of the journal Vestnik KazUTB” - ISSN 2708–4132 (Print), ISSN 2663-1830 (Online), registered with the Republican State Institution “Committee of Information of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” registration certificate No. KZ69VPY00134102 dated November 14, 2025.

The journal Mining and Oil & Gas Engineering is an open-access journal with double-blind peer review.

The founder and publisher of the journal is JSC “Kazakh University of Technology and Business named after K. Kulyazhanov.”

The goal of the journal is to provide a professional scientific platform for the publication and dissemination of the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of mining and the oil and gas industry; to promote the implementation of scientific developments into industrial practice; to advance technological solutions; to enhance industrial safety and environmental sustainability, including decarbonization and digital transformation of the industry.

The objectives of the journal include:

- publication of original research articles, review papers, and scientific and practical materials in key areas of the mining and oil & gas sector;

- dissemination of results aimed at solving current challenges in extractive industries and improving technological efficiency;

- development of interdisciplinary research integrating mining engineering, geoscience, geophysics, geomechanics, oil and gas technologies, environmental science, and digitalization;

- coverage of modern approaches (modeling, digital twins, automation, AI/ML methods, monitoring and diagnostics);

- expansion of scientific communication between researchers from Kazakhstan and foreign countries;

- enhancement of the visibility and citation of research results;

- promotion of sustainable development through publication of studies on environmental risk reduction, decarbonization, resource conservation, and energy efficiency improvement;

- integration of science and industry through dissemination of practice-oriented research addressing current challenges of extractive industries and increasing technological effectiveness.

An important area of the journal’s activity is supporting the training of young specialists and innovative professionals capable of developing and implementing innovative products.

The journal supports the principles of Open Science, digital transparency of research, adherence to international standards of publication ethics, and contributes to expanding opportunities for indexing and citation of published scientific works in international scientometric databases.

Thematic focus – scientific research in the fields of mining engineering, oil and gas engineering, geology, geomechanics, geophysics, well technologies, digital twins, decarbonization, industrial safety, environmental protection, drilling, production, and related areas.
